Interfaith Caregivers

Area congregations of all faiths have come together to provide an effective volunteer caregiving outreach ministry. Living at Home forms a unique relationship with our coalition congregations. The volunteers from each congregation make up a pool of volunteers who assist not only the members of their congregation, they also reach out to others, including those who do not have a church home. This is a natural way for Christians and others of faith to be involved within the community.

Galatians 5: 13b-14:
“Out of love, place yourselves at one
another’s service. The whole law has
found its fulfillment in this one saying:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Thirteen area congregations have become coalition members:

First Lutheran Church www.flcakeley.org

Dorset

Each congregation appoints a congregational coordinator, who
• Serves as a liaison between the church and the Interfaith Caregivers Program, providing information about the project to the church.
• Helps recruit volunteers.
• Assists in identifying and referring persons in need of services.
• Attends Interfaith Caregivers meetings with Congregational Coordinators from other churches. Congregational coordinators will meet periodically.

Each congregation also contributes financially through an annual Interfaith Caregivers Offering.

For more information about becoming a coalition congregation, please call the Living at Home office at 732-3137.
